The 911 Speedster evokes the image of the iconic 356 Speedster built in the 1950’s and updates it with the sportiest of modern 911 features. Porsche built it based on a Cabriolet body with standard or Turbo fender flares, a cut-down windshield in the same style as the original Speedsters, and a fiberglass cover where the back seats, top and tonneau cover would normally reside. It lacks the well-padded electrically operated folding top of the Cabriolet and has only an “emergency” roof in its place.
This model was built in 1989 only, and slightly over 2000 examples were produced, mostly in wide body form. It also marked the 25th anniversary of the Porsche 911. When compared to the earliest 911 models, it is remarkable how unchanged the basic design remains nearly a quarter a century later! The secret lies with many small detail differences that allowed the styling to remain fresh.
Purchased by Coachwerks in March of 2019, the vehicle received routine maintenance along with replacing the hood struts and painting the wheel wells to bring it ready for sale. It is accompanied with the appropriate owners manual and vehicle literature that provides comprehensive documentation for the vehicle. This iconic Porsche is the perfect summer cruiser and is sure to please any enthusiast’s expectations.
